Lockdowns Were A Disaster: The Consequences Of The Left's War on Language and Dissent

Earlier this week one of the best and most well renowned scientific university's in America, Johns Hopkins, released a study that showed lockdowns in 2020 had no measurable impact on the numbers of deaths that the United States suffered from COVID-19. Naturally, the release of this article has led to an explosion in the mediascape. Right-wing outlets are performing victory laps, rubbing their vindication in the faces of those on the left who are now forced to report on the fact that they had been wrong about the government's COVID response all along. There is no doubt that this victory for the Right will be short-lived; within the week, this study will fade from the headlines and from the memories of the people who followed it. These revelations will leave scars of bitterness in the minds of many conservatives, but their subliminal distaste with the direction of this country, the media, and the ruling class will likely remain unaddressed.

A popular phrase has been making the rounds lately on the Right, one that is used in relation to a whole manner of storylines that are playing out in our culture. Whether it be Covid, Epstein/Maxwell, or the corruption of the intelligence community, the saying "The difference between a conspiracy theory and reality is now down to six months" seemsas though it is being integrated more and more into Right-wing rebuttals each day. This is mostly due to the fact that it has become unnervingly accurate. When it comes to COVID, it seems like every month another banned and de-platformed social media pundit is proven correct by a new study that reveals statements made by "public health experts" were wrong. Lockdowns in particular have been sharply criticized since almost the first day that they were enacted. Some of the earliest data available had indicated their uselessness, and it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why they were so ineffective. COVID is highly transmissible and mostly spreads within households. In northern states, no virus with a less than one percent death rate is going to frighten anyone enough for them to endure frigid temperatures and frosty elements all day long. During the winter, cases were bound to spike in the northeast regardless of how stringent lockdowns were as people huddled indoors to enjoy the warmth. In the south, it is no secret that it gets really hot during the summer months. No virus with a less than one percent death rate is going to scare anyone enough to keep them outdoors, out of the AC in the blistering sun and suffocating humidity. Not only is COVID hyper transmissible, but it also has an abnormally long incubation rate, and transmission can occur from asymptomatic individuals. So, unless we welded everyone in the whole country into their homes and apartments (as the communist Chinese did in some cases), there was no earthly way that we were going to be able to stop the spread of this virus. This was evident to those who had access to the data in the early stages of the pandemic, yet only in the past few months have those on the left begun to concede the fact that lockdowns did more harm than good. By the time it was clear that the omicron variant would strike the country hard and fast, even left-wing talking heads were discouraging state governments from engaging in lockdowns again, and they would have been foolish not to; Depression, suicide rates, and drug overdoses all skyrocketed in 2020 as a result of those draconian edicts. The academic performance of our students simultaneously plummetted, with Unicef.org reporting on September 17th, 2021 that schools worldwide lost 1.8 trillion learning hours in a single year. For American kids, this means that they were effectively now an entire grade behind where they should be in the academic pipeline. For other key COVID issues like masks and vaccine effectiveness, data has taken longer to come out. It is now consensus among the medical community that cloth face masks offer no protection, especially against omicron. During the end of the Trump Administration, the White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Scott Atlas had his tweets saying as much pulled from social media. On August 8th, 2021, Youtube booted Rand Paul from their platform for a week as a punishment for speaking what eventually proved to be the truth about masks as well. When it comes to vaccines, they have proven to be ineffective and potentially even hazardous; Many people who are double vaxed and boosted have caught Coronavirus, and many more people have developed myocarditis at very young ages. Rates of such conditions are much higher now than they had been prior to the mass inoculation of our population. While it is unclear if this is a side effect of COVID itself or of the supposed cure, the data available does not put the vaccines in a positive light. While watching Candace the other day, I heard Candace Owens interviewing the now infamous Dr. Robert Malone. Dr. Malone, despite what you might have heard from the mainstream media, is not an anti-vaxxer. He is not a conspiracy theorist or even a republican. Dr. Malone is a scientist with an impressive list of credentials, having graduated from the Northwestern Fienberg School of Medicine as well as authoring roughly a hundred scientific publications. He is described on his website as having "completed the Harvard Medical School fellowship as a global clinical research scholar in 2016 and [being] scientifically trained at the University of California at Davis, the University of California at San Diego, and at the Salk Institute Molecular Biology and Virology laboratories." Dr. Malone was part of the team that created the very first mRNA vaccines and has worked at the highest level in his field. Despite all his accreditations, Robert Malone was kicked off of Twitter for violating their "COVID Policy". After he appeared on Joe Rogan's Podcast, a movement grew that aimed to get Rogan de-platformed from Spotify, with serval washed up artists like Niel Young pulling their music from the platform.

If one were to type into the Google search bar "Robert Malone", "Joe Rogan", or "Rand Paul on Masks", a plethora of articles will appear, and they will all share a common denominator; The words Misinformation and Disinformation. Misinformation is defined by the Oxford Language Dictionary as "false or inaccurate information, especially that which is deliberately intended to deceive." Disinformation is defined by the same Dictionary as "false information which is intended to mislead, especially propaganda issued by a government organization to a rival power or the media." Given these definitions and the fact that they play an integral role in the policy that big tech oligarchs use to censor people on their platforms, the very first person who should have been censored as a result of the response to this pandemic is Dr. Anothony Fauci. The head of the NIH admitted to lying to the American people about masks at the beginning of the pandemic with the intent of misleading the public and discouraging people from buying face coverings in order to conserve the supply for essential workers. Fauci would no doubt call this a white lie, and there may be merit to that assertion. Big Tech and the media, however, have never given quarter to those whom they disagree with on the basis of the honest nature of their mistakes. If the standard was upheld equally, Fauci would be off of Twitter and the rest of the social media platforms on which he has a presence.

There is a lesson that shines through this cloud of negative and hostile public discourse, one that your sixth-grade English teacher probably reiterated a few times in a cliched and airy tone; Words have power, and language is a tool, in a metaphysical sense at least. This is not to say that "silence is violence", or that speech likewise can be equated to violence. Language only works properly when it is grounded in truth. Objective truth is the cornerstone of Western civilization. This is the reason that when North Korea claims to have cured aids or to have invented the hamburger, the entire world disregards them. Kim Jong Un might as well not speak at all, because he'd convince just as many people of his nefarious claims if he chose to not even voice them. Conversely, there is a reason that scientists have been able to improve society to such an extent that in the past 500 years the life expectancy has doubled and poor people in the west now enjoy access to more food and knowledge than any of the great European kings of old. When the truth is packaged into the vessel of language and speech, society progresses and maintains its health. When language is corrupted for dubious purposes, civilization is destabilized to a significant degree. When the truth becomes secondary to a political or social goal, language is transformed from a tool into a weapon. The battle that the Coronavirus pandemic has brought to light is not merely one between truth and lies, but a struggle over the use of speech. This is why we must fight hard to maintain the purity and the purpose of our language, even though it may at times be uncomfortable. Misinformation and disinformation are indeed real, and they certainly pose a threat to our society. However, once the powers-that-be hijacked the two terms with malignant intent at the expense of truth, those who were attempting to shut down the shotty information that pervades society accidentally created a far more dangerous entity; they turned the safety net that language provided into an offensive weapon. They twisted language in order to pursue political aims. It does not matter to these people that they were dead wrong about masks, lockdowns, and vaccines; They knew that such was the case, they just didn't care. All they truly care about is effectuating their worldview, and forcing it down the throats of those who disagree with them. This is why both our political system and our culture are currently so dysfunctional. What once was a society that operated and grew through discourse and debates between parties of good faith who sought out the truth has suddenly devolved into a cold war between the powers of media, government, and Big Tech who stifle truth in pursuit of their utopian ambitions and average Americans who are capable on their own of thinking critically and hashing out the true nature of the facts that form reality.

Not only is this an ill-contrived mission by our current overlords, but it is one that has begun backfiring horribly. This is true on every front when it comes to the Left's war on language; When misinformation and disinformation become umbrella terms that describe any perspective that deviates from the agreed-upon consensus, the terms become diluted, and actual mis-and disinformation is allowed to grow in the shadows. When everything conservative becomes racist, as was essentially the stipulation projected by Nicole Hannah Jones's 1619 project, it becomes harder to actually pin down racist actors in this country who fantasize about gaining legitimate influence. When Men can become women and women can become men, or when people can be both, it dilutes the feminine identity of all women.

COVID is unique among these aforementioned issues because the COVID response has produced a physical manifestation of the corruption of language, one that has impacted every single person in America. In many stores and venues, one must still physically put on a mask to enter despite all scientific data pointing to the fact that they do not work. For almost all public sector employees and many who work in the private sector, people were forced to physically stick a needle in their arms and get injected with an experimental drug that we now know for a fact does not prevent the symptoms or spread of the virus that it was created to combat. We can see in real-time our leaders, from the ones in the cultural sphere all the way up to the leaders of our republic in Congress being banned and censored, rendering them unable of communicating their ideas to their constituents. COVID and our society's response to it have revealed to everyone just how powerful a weapon language can be, and how easily the truth can be cast aside by those who hold influence in pursuit of political or cultural objectives. We are all now faced with a choice; We can either bury our heads in the sand and follow the crowd, or we can take a stand for truth, for our language, for our communities, and for our Country.
